What is your approach to resolving matters?

At Pemberton Robertson Family Lawyers we know that dealing with issues arising from a breakdown of a relationship or wider family law matters are an emotional, stressful time for our clients. We will work with you as a team to explore all options to resolve your dispute without the need to go to Court. However, if your matter requires Court proceedings, our lawyers are skilled litigators and will carefully guide you through this process.

What do I need to do before my first appointment?

  • A list of the current assets and liabilities of the relationship if your matter relates to property settlement;
  • A list of what assets and liabilities each of you and your former partner had at the time you started living together;
  • Copies of important documents such as birth certificates for your children, marriage certificates and if applicable, any court documents.

We will advise you by telephone prior to your first appointment if we require any other documents.

How much can I expect my matter to cost?

We cannot advise you in relation to costs without having an idea of your unique set of circumstances. Our lawyers are dedicated to providing quality and cost-effective legal solutions.

How long can I expect my matter to take?

There is no easy answer to this question because every matter is different. However, we are focused on resolving your dispute and will always do our best to bring your matter to an end in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Does seeing a lawyer mean you have to go to court?

No, not necessarily. At Pemberton Robertson Family Lawyers, we are settlement-focused and will always explore options to resolve your dispute without needing to go to Court, if that is possible.
